About Us
Peninsula Auto Shine and Supply was founded in the summer of 2022 by Regina and Dale Blankenship after a successful 30-year career in the auto body industry. As owners of a Maaco Collision Repair and Auto Painting center located in Hampton, Virginia, they grew the center into the leading Maaco center in Virginia and stayed in the top 10% of the chain for most of those years. They won most awards the chain had to offer. Additionally, the couple obtained the Gold Class rating from the Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair (I-CAR)—one of the first shops in Hampton Roads to do so.
Dale is a Poquoson native, while Regina is from Tabb, Virginia. Dale started at Maaco as a detailer in 1981 and worked in several positions in the paint shop and the body shop before being appointed manager of the Newport News, VA, center in 1989. Regina came from several companies’ administrative and customer service backgrounds, including the Army Air Force Exchange Service at the Dan Daniels Distribution Center in Newport News.
Dale has always been a car guy, racing local oval tracks in a variety of cars as well as being a long-time autocrosser. Regina is also an automotive enthusiast with two SCCA Southeast Division autocross championships. Their love of motorsports helped fuel their passion for being in the automotive business.
With their years of experience in the body shop industry, they know what it takes to maintain the look and luster of your car and how to bring them back to life and protect those vehicles to make them look great for years to come.
